Sunday was another great winter's day and something had changed. The team were all listening to the Coach before the game and then out onto the field lead by Captain Harry.
There were some good passages of play in the first half.
but the game failed to hold the interest of some of the spectators.
Even with the words of wisdom at quarter time, our forwards were not being placed under a lot of pressure.
The half time break saw a change. With more team work and pressure on the opposition, goals started happening.
It was a much happier team that came off the field this week as was evidenced by the gusto in singing the Club Song.

Game Day - 19 June 2011
Another crisp, clear morning and the team was playing away at Ferntree Gully. They came out fired up and ready for business.
The ground was a bit light on in the drainage department but none of the team seemed to mind.
The spectators looked like they could have made good use of a blanket!
And some of the spectators decided not to spectate.
The boys were being pushed hard by Ferntree Gully who scored freely in the first half.
The second half saw the team playing with more purpose
but the most difficult position is waiting for your turn to get back into the game!
After the game, it was good to see them coming off the ground as a team and in good spirits. Performance was judged by the amount of mud being carried off the ground on legs and in clothes.

Training 15th June
After some weeks away, it was a bit of a shock to get back to the Melbourne winter. However Wednesday was a beautiful, crisp evening and the Coaches were whipping up the action.
The team was getting into the drills despite the cold.
Is it just me or are there times when they are not 100% on the task at hand?
The fans were going wild on the sidelines (or not) -
but our "men of steel" were enjoying themselves.
Let's hope the weather holds for a good game on Sunday.
